It is home to producers of various key products, including electronics, IT components, photovoltaic application products, auto parts, machinery, hardware, and different industrial equipment. In order to assist Taiwanese companies in tapping into the vast overseas market, TAITRA is actively inviting foreign buyers to Taiwan for one-on-one procurement meetings with excellent Taiwanese suppliers. Through such arrangements, Taiwanese enterprises have more opportunity to do business with foreign buyers without the need to spend much on overseas business trips.
The Customized Marketing Service Program is designed to create business opportunities in emerging markets of Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, Poland, Russia and Iran. TAITRA’s branch offices in the 6 countries offer tailor-made marketing services, including recruiting of local project managers for buyer visits, updating market information and organizing promotional activities. The program helps reduce the initial barriers of entry and enables enterprises to uncover new opportunities.
TAITRA organizes trade groups to participate in more than 50 international trade exhibitions held overseas annually. Over 1,000 Taiwanese enterprises have had the opportunity to participate in these events.
In order to promote New Southbound Policy and integrate the power of government and privately owned enterprise, the government implement the policy including integrating supply chains with domestic partners to establish new economic and trade partnerships, boosting bilateral and multilateral cooperation in health care, culture, tourism, agriculture, and technology. Therefore, TAITRA has been entrusted by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA, to implement Taiwan Expo in line with B2B professional exhibition in Southeast Asia.
Through Taiwan Expo we aim to enhance Taiwan's global image and to jointly create an environment favorable for Taiwan enterprises and the local businesses in targeted nations to partner with each other. At the same time we will promote Taiwan’s 「5+2」 leading industries to advertise our strength with the ASEAN member states. We believe Taiwan Expo 2017 will become the newly communication platform between Taiwan and targeted country.
TAITRA organizes trade missions to visit various cities around the world, such as Middle East, Africa, Japan, South Korea, Latin America, and India to promote the representative industries of Taiwan, which include automobile parts, hardware, flat panel display, sports equipment, and medical equipment. Over 600 Taiwanese companies take part in these trade missions annually, engaging some 12,000 foreign business people in business discussions.
As part of our effort to assist Taiwanese companies in setting up their businesses in new markets, TAITRA is able to help with the rental of overseas business offices. This service is a collaboration between BOFT and MOEA and is available in 19 cities across 17 countries.
Taiwanese companies looking for a week’s usage of office space are able to take advantage of this service for free, and a special rate is available for longer usage. The service package includes the provision of market and investment information, as well as other business facilities, such as internet connection, telephone, fax and copier. Hiring of temporary local staff can also be arranged.
This service is currently available in Osaka, Japan; Mexico City, Mexico; Chennai and Mumbai, India; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Yangon, Myanmar; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Istanbul, Turkey; Kolkota, India; St. Petersburg, Russia; Almaty, Kazakhstan; Cairo, Egypt; Nairobi, Kenya; Kuwait City, Kuwait; Manila, Philippines; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Sydney, Australia; and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
To implement the government’s “New Southbound Policy” and assist our Taiwanese companies in exploring business opportunities, TAITRA will initiate efforts to establish new southbound company networking associations. This endeavor will encompass 18 countries: 10 from ASEAN and six from South Asia, along with New Zealand and Australia. The associations will be the core platform of our companies for information sharing, experiential learning, and accumulating energy. Combining TAITRA’s new southbound activities, the networking platform will facilitate our companies in their efforts to acquire trade opportunities.
